Teenagers From Low Income Families At Greater Risk Of Migraine

Teenagers from low income households with no family history of migraine are more likely to suffer migraine than children from upper income families, according to a study published in the July 3, 2007, issue of Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology. For the study, researchers surveyed 18,714 adolescents and their parents. A total of 1,178 adolescents had migraine.

Parents May Play Role In Their Kids’ Migraine Headache Pain

According to preliminary results of an ongoing study at Columbus Children’s Hospital, to be presented at the American Headache Society’s June meeting in Chicago, parents of adolescents with migraines may have an influence on the level of pain reported. Approximately 10 percent of children and adolescents get migraines, and as many as two percent suffer from chronic migraines, meaning 15 or more headaches a month.

Trexima(TM) (Sumatriptan/Naproxen Sodium) Demonstrated Migraine-Free Response Across Multiple Attacks

New data from two large trials show that Trexima, when taken early, was nearly twice as effective as placebo in eliminating all traditional migraine symptoms at two and four hours across multiple attacks with just one tablet. The findings will be presented tomorrow at the 49th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Headache Society.
